The Main Reasons Why I’m Learning PHP

Right now if you would ask any developer which programming language you should pick as your first programming language probably any developer would say any programming language except php and i know that i’m probably exaggerating here a bit however it is true that php is not very popular amongst junior developers and some even say that php is dying so why i am still trying to learn php in 2021 if it is a dying language well in this video i’m gonna share exactly why i decided to start learning php in 2021 and why i believe it is an excellent language for junior developers so first reason why i decided to start learning php as one of my first programming languages is because it has a low barrier of entry and what i mean by that is that it is a lot easier to start building real world working applications with php than with some other programming languages the second reason why i decided to learn php as my first programming language is because it is a lot easier to get a junior developer position with php than with any other programming language and of course i don’t know in which part of the world you are located however in my country and in europe in general php is still pretty relevant and when i was looking through different job sites i noticed that with php there are the most open junior deaf positions so immediately that shows that you have a lot more options when applying to jobs with php than with any other programming language third reason why i decided to pick php is because there are bunch of freelancing gigs with php and of course i want to get employed first and i want to get a normal job however it is good to know that php can offer a bunch of freelancing gigs as you probably know wordpress is built on php so that means a lot of small and medium-sized businesses use wordpress or use php and that’s when a junior deaf can come in and help those businesses with their websites on the other hand if you would be learning something like python there would probably be zero opportunities for you to get a freelancing gift because python is usually used in large corporations for ai or data science so if you are someone who wants to have some options either to get a job or to freelance i think php is a perfect option because you can do both with it fourth reason why i decided to learn php is because people say that php is one of the easiest languages to learn and of course me as a complete beginner i didn’t want to waste time on something like objective c get frustrated and then quit programming for all no i wanted to pick a language that’s gonna be easy to learn and of course there might be languages that are easier than php however i was looking at the whole picture and wanted to pick a language that’s going to be well-rounded and allow me to get a job as fast as i can and of course python or javascript are also considered to be pretty easy languages to learn however when i was learning javascript it was a bit harder to understand the same concepts than with php and of course i don’t know the whole language and i don’t know how it is with python but i trusted in what people are telling me and i just went with php and so far i can confirm that php is a pretty easy language even though it is not a very nice language and the fifth reason why i decided to pick php is because there is a lot less competition with php for junior devs than with any other language and that is because php is considered to be one of the worst languages or one of the ugliest languages so naturally most of the beginners start with python or javascript and when i realized that i knew that if i start learning language that is not popular amongst junior devs i will have a lot more opportunities to get employed faster because if i would be learning javascript like most of the junior devs i would be competing with thousands of applicants for the same job positions however since i’m learning php i’m only competing with maybe 1 000 or 2 000 of applicants so there is a lot less competition with a language that gets a bad rep however that being said i can totally agree that php isn’t the nicest language to earn and its syntax isn’t the prettiest and at the same time it is pretty easy to write backed code with php however as i mentioned before i was looking at the whole picture and i was looking for a language that’s gonna allow me to get um employed as fast as i can so in the next few months my plan is to do an update on this video and let you guys know how it was with php and if it is really was easier to get a job with php then it would be with javascript because at the same time i’m learning php and javascript just right now i prefer php a bit more because i see a bit more opportunities with it in my area.
